Pool Re-Opening on November 15, 2024 at 3 pm

The pool will re-open today, November 15, at 3 pm. Repair of the pool’s filtration system has been successfully completed this morning.

We regret to inform you of an Unexpected Temporary Pool Closure. We sincerely apologize for this closure. We understand how disappointing this is for many of our guests.

Our main Swimming Pool is now closed due to an unexpected maintenance concern with pool’s filtration system. Jetted Hot Tub, Plunge Pool, Eucalyptus Steam Room and Fitness Facility remains open for daily, from 6AM-11PM. 

We are working to resolve the situation as quickly as possible. We are in contact with suppliers to source the necessary parts for the repair to this pool’s filtration system, and will provide updates as more information becomes available.

Please be advised that Mount Norquay Road will be closed for essential railway repair work on September 16-17, 2024. This closure may affect your route into Banff. We recommend using the Trans-Canada Highway (Exit 368) as an alternative during this time.

Current Conditions in Banff:

Banff and Lake Louise are not directly threatened by wildfires at this time. There are a few fires burning in remote areas, but they pose no risk to public safety or infrastructure in Banff or Lake Louise. Please note that the situation is dynamic and can change quickly. Is it smoky in Banff and Lake Louise?

Smoke from relatively distant fires continues to move through the area – it is dynamic and changes regularly. This typically doesn’t directly impact operations in the park. While we can’t predict future conditions, there are resources available to help you stay informed:

What about the situation in Jasper?

Due to the devastating wildfires, Jasper National Park remains closed until further notice. If your trip includes Jasper, you will need to make rearrangements. We recognize that for many people, this is your special vacation, and we want to help you adjust your plans to ensure you have a wonderful trip. Banff, Yoho, and Kootenay National Parks are open to visitors, as are cities including Calgary and Edmonton.

Highway 93N (Icefields Parkway) in Banff National Park remains open from the Trans-Canada Highway to Saskatchewan Crossing at Highway 11. Access to Rampart Creek campground will be maintained for reservation-holders only. However, day-use and trail access are not permitted beyond North Saskatchewan Crossing at this time.

To ensure public safety during ongoing wildfire operations in Jasper National Park, an area closure has been put in place for Nigel Pass Trail. The Columbia Icefield in Jasper National Park is also closed. Stay updated through the Columbia Icefield website.

The Municipality of Jasper and Jasper National Park have issued a Wildfire alert.  here is a wildfire south of town. An Evacuation Order has been issued for the Town of Jasper and Jasper National Park.

If you have a reservation with the Banff Park Lodge, Peaks Hotel & Suites, or the Bow View Lodge, please contact our reservation team at 1.800.661.9266 

Area: This alert is in effect for everyone located in Jasper and Jasper National Park.

Everyone in Jasper and Jasper National Park must evacuate now
The fire is coming towards to and is expected to reach the community in 5 hours
Please drive safe
Use Highway 16 towards British Columbia

Check the Municipality of Jasper and Jasper National Park’s Facebook page and website for more information
If you need a ride, go to the Activity Centre, Forest Park Hotel or Maligne Lodge.

Water has been turned back on by the town of Banff.

Due to unexpected complications with the ongoing water main repair near our facility, we have had to temporarily shut down our water supply. We are actively working with the Town of Banff’s repair teams to resolve this issue as quickly and safely as possible.

Impact on Services:

  • All water-related services within Banff Park Lodge are currently suspended, including bathrooms, kitchen facilities, and spa services.

Important Update on Local Water Main Repairs

We wish to inform our guests of ongoing developments regarding the water main break near the Banff Park Lodge.

Road Closure Alert: Bow Avenue is currently closed to traffic between Caribou and Wolf Street due to necessary repair work at the intersection of Bow Avenue and Wolf Street. Please note that access to the Canoe Docks parking lot is also unavailable, and Wolf Street is closed at the alley.

Excavation Work Schedule: Repair crews are scheduled to begin excavation work on Wednesday, April 17, starting at 8:30 a.m. This may impact the water service at Banff Park Lodge and the adjacent Banff Health Unit building. Although the teams will make every effort to maintain water service, some limitations may be necessary to ensure the repairs are completed safely and effectively.

No Estimated Time for Road Reopening: At this moment, there is no definitive timeline for when the road will be reopened. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they become available.

We have received an update from the Town of Banff’s Water Works Department regarding the ongoing water main repair near our location.

The repair is scheduled to begin tomorrow, and efforts will be made to ensure that the water supply to Banff Park Lodge remains uninterrupted. While the current plan does not involve stopping our water service, we are prepared for the possibility of brief disruptions if necessary.

The worst-case scenario may require a temporary and indefinite shutdown of our water supply to safely complete the repairs. Rest assured, we will receive continuous updates on the progress and will share new information with you promptly.Additionally, the Town of Banff has assured us that they can adjust the water pressure for our lodge if any issues arise.

We thank you for your understanding as we work closely with local authorities to manage this situation with minimal impact on your stay.

There has been a water main break on Bow Avenue, a short distance from our location. Currently, our water supply is operational. However, we anticipate potential interruptions or changes in water pressure as repairs commence today and may continue into tomorrow.

Please be assured that we are in close communication with the Town of Banff authorities to receive updates and manage the situation promptly. Our goal is to keep any inconvenience to a minimum and maintain your comfort throughout your stay.
